The Electricity Company of Ghana's attention has been drawn to a false alarm circulating on social media, to the effect that, some devices have been installed on ECG poles and are meant to freeze the easy flow of cellphone network during the election period. +++ +++ The ECG wishes to state categorically that this information is FALSE. +++ +++ The communication devices installed on the ECG poles in areas such as; Dodowa, Roman Ridge, Legon, Prampram etc. are meant purposely to facilitate smooth flow of communication between the prepaid meters (NURI prepaid meters) on the field and our server. +++ +++ The general public is therefore being advised to ignore this false alarm. +++ Thank you.

EditorsNote: Behind the Power is a series where we throw more light on the exceptional work that ECG staff undertake day-in  and  day-out  to keep the lights on. In each feature, we have designed Instagram-like diaries to tell a story about the people Behind The Power and the work they do. Our goal is to let the reader visualise“behind the power” a bit more of who we are at ECG, our jobs, our commitment to customers and our dedication to service. The first in our series is a focus on the staff at Half-Assini district who have oversight responsibility of the Nzulezu township.
