The customer is given a Smart CARD
It uses the customer contact card for loading money unto the meter from the vending station.
HOW TO READ YOUR MONTHLY CONSUMPTION
On the PrePaid Meter, Press the Push Button below the Card reader on the Top Right Corner of the meter 5 times to see your consumption on Page 5.
METER DISPLAY
The meter displays several information in the display pages including:
Cumulative energy consumed since meter installation in kWh(page 1)
Remaining credit (money) left in cedis (page 2)
Power consumed in kW (page 12)
BILLING
Billing for customers is computed by the meter. The meter receives the cash and computes the tariff as and when customer consumes electricity in each month. Levies, VAT and NHIL are all computed inside the meter.
Service charge is billed at vending stations based on previous months and its charged on the customer’s 1st visit in new month)

Billing for customers is done on the server of the system. There is a communication of the meter with the server for billing to be done. The energy charge is done by the server whenever the meter communicates to the system server. The service charge, levies, VAT and NHIL and subsidies computations are done on the server and communicated to the meter.
Service charge is deducted on the 1st Day of the month.
Subsidies and difference in service charge are deducted on the 1st Day of every new month.

Service charge is also billed inside the meter at. It is deducted at the beginning of every month. Subsidies are given when a customer visits the vending station. The difference in service charge is also deducted at the vending station. (1st visit in new month).
