ECG Celebrates 50years. +++ 50 Years of Powering the Socio-Economic Growth and Development of Ghana

Accra-based Italian Restaurant, Bread and Wine, indeed consumed power to the tune of about GHc60,000  for two months. That’s according to the Ministry of Power, which ordered an audit of the charges, after the company threatened to close down following the astronomical charges.According to the Power Ministry, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), is not to blame for the bill incurred by the Italian eatery.

The General Manager, Ing. George Appiah Kubi, in collaboration with the Regional Management team and Luton Engineering commissioned a fuel station at the Accra West Region on the 18th February, 2016.

The General Manager, in charge of Technical, Mr. Edward Addo Ansah of Luton Engineering, indicated that the delay in completing the project was as a result of variation to the contract during the implementation stage.

A special taskforce made of high profile staff of ECG and the Ministry of Power visited selected Special Load tariff(SLT) customers of ECG on the 26th of January 2016. The team was led by the Deputy Minister Of Power, John Abu Jinapor. The team included the Ag. Managing Director of ECG, Mr. Robert Dwamena and the Chief Executive Officer of VRA, Ing Kirk Kwofie.

The  taskforce was formed in collaboration with the Ministry of Power as part of ECG's

The Accra West Region, in its quest to improve supply quality and reliability barring any load-shedding, has installed sixteen (16) transformers in some areas within its jurisdiction.

The transformers, which cost GH¢1, 738,653.42, have been installed at parts of Dansoman, Weija, Darkuman, Nyamekye, Joma-Bortianor, Fadama, Awudome, Kantamanto, CMB, Korle-Gonno, Scorpion Junction, Akweteyman, Motorway as well as Nsawam Market-Asuotwene.
